Design Philosophy
Atelier Sharona Sha is not bound by type, scale, or medium.
We work across dimensions — from buildings to bridges, interiors to objects, public installations to digital environments — approaching each project as both spatial inquiry and cultural expression. Across these different scales, our work is driven by a consistent pursuit: to translate identity into space and experience.
Our approach exists in the productive tension between discipline and improvisation, tradition and speculation. We pursue work that is bold, elegant, and adventurous, while every project begins with an inquiry into the forces, atmospheres, narratives, and ambitions that make it distinct. The resulting design is not an application of a predetermined style, but an expression specific to its context, its people, and its purpose.
For brands, institutions, and properties whose value depends on identity and differentiation, space becomes more than a physical setting. It becomes a way to make that identity tangible — shaping how people perceive, experience, and remember a place.
We collaborate with visionary clients who recognize the power of design to create distinction and who, like us, are drawn to the edge of the familiar: the threshold where architecture becomes art, and design becomes discovery.
Sharona Sha brings more than a decade of experience across commercial, civic, residential, hospitality, and interior renovation projects. Over the course of her career, she has built a diverse body of work ranging from intimate residential interventions to large-scale public and commercial projects.
Her work is grounded in an understanding that good design should create value beyond the physical space itself. She has helped homeowners rethink their living environments while enhancing the value of their properties; translated a company’s identity and core values into distinctive architectural experiences; and repositioned existing properties to strengthen their relevance, experience, and market appeal.
As a designer, Sharona is particularly interested in understanding what is distinctive about each client, place, and project—and finding the architectural language that allows that identity to emerge. Rather than approaching design through a predetermined style, she works from the inside out, bringing together spatial intelligence, artistic intuition, and technical rigor to create environments that feel both unexpected and deeply specific to the people they serve.
Her work is characterized by clarity of concept, refined form, and a sensitivity to experience—from the larger architectural gesture to the intimate moments that shape how a space feels and is remembered. She approaches each project with curiosity, persistence, and care, carrying complexity through the design process so that the final experience can feel natural and effortless.
Sharona holds a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from China University of Mining and Technology.
